A Man of Humility
My good friend and pastor, Jim Hamilton, has accepted a position at The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky and I want to point anyone who comes here to read an article on him. There are so many honoring and true statements said about him that I won't brag on him too much here, but please go to this link to read about him joining the staff at Southern.
I was blessed to have had Jim as both a professor at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and as a pastor at Baptist Church of the Redeemer over the past five years. (I guess I should include the blessing that it was to have him marry my wife and I almost two years ago!)
Outside of being the smartest guy that I have ever been around, Jim is someone who really cares about the glory of God and believes in the power of the Gospel. God has used Jim to encourage so many young pastors to base their ministries on the Word of God. He has a vision to start healthy, biblical churches and strengthen churches that are in decline. Jim is a great father and husband and he is definitely a Hebrews 13:7 man. I could go on and on, but what I really want to say is that Jim is a man of humility. Jim is always asking for ways in which he can better serve the body and he receives correction with joy. I hope to imitate so much of who this man is, but I truly hope I can walk in humility as he has. What a blessing for Houston to have been able to cross paths with this man and his family and we wish him many blessings as he heads to where God has called him.
Blessings to you, Dr. Hamilton. I am so thankful for who you are.
