My Valentine

1 Peter 3:1-6
"Likewise, wives, be subject to your own husbands, so that even if some do not obey the word, they may be won without a word by the conduct of their wives, when they see your respectful and pure conduct. Do not let your adorning be external—the braiding of hair and the putting on of gold jewelry, or the clothing you wear— but let your adorning be the hidden person of the heart with the imperishable beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which in God's sight is very precious. For this is how the holy women who hoped in God used to adorn themselves, by submitting to their own husbands, as Sarah obeyed Abraham, calling him lord. And you are her children, if you do good and do not fear anything that is frightening.
Stephenie and I have been married for about 1 year and 7 months and I'm so thankful that she is a 1 Peter 3 girl. Stephenie exhibits v.5 and she truly puts her hopes in God and His promises. She doesn't put her hopes in her clothes or in her job or in anything that we have materially. Her hope is in God and that allows us to keep so much of this life in perspective. That my friends is the kind of wife that each husband needs.
She also does such a good job on concentrating her efforts on inner beauty rather than outer beauty. She doesn't run to the store after each paycheck seeking to buy new clothes. She doesn't spend her free time tanning or always having to to get her nails done. She definitely has a beautiful heart that is gentle and quiet and so attractive to me. Now I must say Stephenie is smoking hot in the outer beauty catagory, too. She looks wonderful whether we are getting dressed up and going out or whether we are both doing work around the house. That is a great added bonus, but I truly believe that her gentle, quiet spirit makes her even more attractive than she already is.
I'm thankful for the Valentine Day that we shared yesterday and I was reminded how much I loved having a 1 Peter 3 wife. She didn't expect or ask for flowers (Though I took her a small arrangement at school). She didn't expect a fancy dinner (We did buy some steaks and we both prepared the meal). She didn't expect jewelry or any fancy gift (We just hung out and talked for awhile with the TV off . . . although we did sneak in a little Supernatural). We had a great time yesterday and I just thought it would be appropriate to brag on Stephenie and rejoice for this wonderful gift from God.
Also, I had that other picture of Travis up with "his" shirt off and I think it's time for a new picture!
Blessings to all and to the wife of my youth . . . I love you more than Roger Clemens love his reputation . . .
