The Gospel and Personal Evangelism

Stephenie and I were blessed by our good friend and pastor, Jim Hamilton, with Mark Dever's new book The Gospel and Personal Evangelism. Mark Dever is the senior pastor at Capitol Hill Baptist Church and is involved with 9Marks ministry.

The Gospel and Personal Evangelism seeks to answers the following questions: Who should we evangelize? How should we evangelize? What is evangelism? and Why should we evangelize? Mark Dever delivers a great, easy-to-read, convicting, and challenging book. I know that I have failed miserably at sharing the gospel so many times and I hope to cultivate a life that seeks to share the gospel on a daily basis. There are so many biblical and practical truths in this book and I'm thankful for this unexpected gift.

Go pick up a copy of The Gospel and Personal Evangelism and allow these truths to help form a lifestyle of seeking to share the gospel on a regular basis.

  • Billy,

Thanks for sounding the call for this great book on your blog! I was truly encouraged by all of the illustrations and personal stories. I think I was most helped by Dever's insight on the particular challenge pastors face with talking to and becoming friends with unbelievers. By the grace of God, I hope to be much more intentional about my evangelism, in no small part, because of this book.

Great post! May God open doors for the gospel!
